It’s 9-11 and we all remember where we were when the attack happened in 2001. At that time, as a country, we weren’t sure if we would be able to move past the attack, recover from lost loved ones and rebuild an important part of our country’s largest city. One thing is for sure, we would not take our freedom for granted.
Now here we are, in another different strange world. I know I know…we are tired of hearing about COVID (and are way past 9-11). However, in the Life Design space, it is important to reflect as we personally progress. I think it’s important to recognize the things we will no longer take for granted during this weird time.
Here are my little things:
- Pedicures
- Hiking
- Happy hour with friends
- Barnes & Noble
- Writing in coffee shops
- Motivational speaking
Here are my big things:
- Family vacations
- Date nights
- Child care/School
- Watching my daughter in her activities
- Hugging!
Some of us may have gotten out, however some us, particularly parents or those with medical conditions are still sheltering at home, remote schooling, and keeping everyone as safe as possible. It’s a personal decision.
Take some time today and create your list of the little and big things you will no longer take for granted when this ends. It will give you perspective and also is a great opportunity to reflect on how far you’ve come being able to live without these things.
I hope that we have all been able to gain insight from this time and learn what we need, want, and desire that will fulfill us. I think we can also gain insight into ways we can improve like saving time from going out shopping, saving money eating out, and learning more about the people we live with.
There are a lot of things we miss when we are running around that I hope you have been able to receive glimpses of during this time. It’s the small things that matter…even taking a deep breath and soaking in the blue sky above you.
On social, pick 1 thing off your list and share it with us! You can say “toilet paper” if you want…we won’t judge 😜
