Cupcakes are muffins who believed in miracles

Believing in yourself is the first step to making a dream a reality. Muffins are good, but cupcakes are better. Be the cupcake. Read more...

I just love this quote so much.  It’s cute. It’s real and makes sense from a little kid to a grown adult.  Everyone can relate to a cupcake! And everyone can relate to believing in something.

There is real power in the concept of believing in something.

True Stories:

I was inspired to use this quote after watching some foodie documentaries.  I watched unhealthy people who had cancer and other debilitating diseases decide to make some changes in their lives with what they ate.

They stopped eating processed foods, drinking soda, and shifted their food intake to contain more veggies.  Then the magic happens.  Their bloodwork becomes normal. They feel great. They can stop taking a handful of pills each day.  It’s a miracle!

But really it’s not a miracle.  All these people started to believe that they weren’t a victim of their diseases.  They tried something different to take control of their health and ultimately their lives.  It made a difference and you can do it too!

My Miracles:

I’ve had my own share of miracles related to my health.  One was back in 2009, I suddenly gained 50lbs in 3 months.  It was odd as I was a personal trainer at the time and my diet did not change.

Over the next 3 years, I bounced around the medical community trying to find answers to my symptoms.  I felt fatigued, depressed, and inflamed.  Eventually, I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy and hypothyroidism, but it took a lot of self-advocating to get there.

Once I was able to change the way I ate and was on medication to get my thyroid under control I felt like a different person, all from first believing that something was wrong.

My 2nd (3rd and 4th) miracles are my children.  You can read more about my twin pregnancy here after 37 fertility cycles.  I also conceived my daughter through treatments as well. When all seemed lost, I believed I was meant to be a mom and then these miracles happened.  With my twins, the cycle I got pregnant with them was the last cycle I was going to do due to the emotional, physical, and financial hardships of treatment…talk about a last-minute miracle!

Believing in Yourself:
Be the cupcake.  It starts with the idea of change.
  • What do you want to change?
Start with an idea, what do you want or need right now?  Miracles can be small or large.  We need to think about that idea and believe in it often.  The universe will listen and send you what you need, it starts with the idea and that starts with you!
  • What steps can you take to make it happen?
If you could do something today to take a step and make this happen, what could it be?  If I were the muffin, maybe I’d go buy some frosting and sprinkles…you feel me? Good…
  • Imagine yourself with the result
It’s important to keep the dream alive!  Imagine yourself with the result like it already happened.  If you want to fit in those skinny jeans…imagine yourself putting them on, successfully buttoning them, wearing them somewhere, and feeling like a million bucks.
  • Believe in the result
That result you imagine, keep telling yourself you will get there and don’t stop believing! No negative thoughts here…you gotta believe and keep the dream alive.
  • Take the steps each day to reach your goal
As the Fairy Godmother says, “Miracles take a little time.” Do something every day, even if it’s just believing in your idea or taking one small step towards your goal.

  • Come up with a daily mantra to remind yourself you believe in it…
Believing is the most important part here.  If you’re that tasty blueberry muffin and you keep telling yourself “I’ll never be a cupcake,” it’s not gonna happen.  So tell yourself, “I going to be that darn cupcake!  I am going to taste delicious and look fab on top of that decorated tower!”

Believe in miracles. Believe in you.

You got this!
